Ok...I'm not much for gimmicks, I guess I'm a "purist", preferring sleight of hand to mechanical
tricks, but there are a few exceptions, and this is one. Especially for kids, this just blows them
away- they can take it apart, examine everything. For those who claim that people figure it out, I
have to say- if they are, it's your technique. To prove the point to a fellow prestidigitator, I
once performed the disappearing hankie with the large thumb tip on my pinkie the entire time- nobody
caught on. Use that misdirection, make them look where you want them to look, and you can get away
with murder! For newbies, I highly recommend Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic- he teaches
misdirection wonderfully. One tip for this trick- use your imagination, you can come up with some
beautiful effects besides the 4 quarter gag!
