Magic Tricks

Having seen all of Dani DaOrtiz’s PL lectures, I found this painful to watch. Nearly everything that Sedlacek “teaches” seems to be coming straight out of DaOrtiz’s lectures. Not only are many tricks nothing more than poor imitations of DaOrtiz’s material, but even some of the examples used to explain underlying principles are the same! It’s pretty outrageous. I could go on with specific examples, but I don’t want to devote much time to Sedlacek. He shouldn’t be lecturing as he isn’t bringing anything new to the table. I think everything in this lecture is is performed (masterfully) by DaOrtiz and taught with much greater understanding in his Penguin lectures. Sedlacek is an immature magician who hasn’t been taught that you don’t lecture until you’ve something considerably unique and valuable to offer. But as it’s on Penguin to vet their acts, the blame is on them for airing this embarrassing production.
