As my whole mentalism routine for an evening really does, "Packs Small and Plays Big". This is
perfect. I have another case exactly like it and between the two of them I can easily get
everything I need to carry with me for any kind of show I might be performing for essentially any
length of time. I usually carry one as a 'primary' case and the other for everything else. If I am
performing in a'sit down'setting I have a third case, also from TCC that I use which comes with a
mat and and a 'form fitted' set of spaces that you cannot reconfigure. For seated performances, I
have a side table I set this case on and reach in to get what I want when I want it. It looks nice
and is very usable for me. I will often 'load' it from one of these.
THIS Close Up Case I
am reviewing and it's identical Mate I bought some time ago, DO allow you the opportunity to
reconfigure your case for anything you might have or want to put in there. Cards, Ropes, (regular
size) Tarot cards, coins, Die, a deck or two of playing cards, card packets, whatever. I have half a
dozen 'billets' set up in packets for various routines all lined up so I can read the 'cover card'I
made for each of them, as soon as I open the case. Doing so allows me to quickly pull out what I
want to perform. No 'digging' necessary. Again, depending on what I am doing, I might bring one of
these out with me and have the other as an 'accessory' case which is very handy for 'accessories'.
You may not have to carry two cases with you. I can get 1.5 hours of material for 'Close Up' or
'Walk Around'in either of these cases and much of that can go right into my pockets once I arrive at
the venue. So I tend to 'park' my case, load my pockets, go do what I am going to do and come back
for a 'new round' of Magic if necessary and go again. These are nice close up cases. I do prefer
this 'changeable module' design so you can choose what configuration meets your needs. The case
itself looks just fine. I happen to prefer the look of 'form fitted' version (with a mat that comes
with it) for some settings but it doesn't hold as much 'stuff' and will only accept that which is
the size of the space. So these are a little more adaptable in that way. For any walk around, I
find a convenient place to put them, load up my pockets and go. I thought they were a good price and
frankly are ideal for most of my close up situations.
