I was very intrigued by the demo. Especially when it states, “Spectator Freely and Secretly Shuffles
the Cups”.
I have to put this right up there with some of the most deceptive and dishonest demos
I’ve seen. The spectator absolutely does NOT shuffle the cups freely or secretly. There is no way I
would ever perform this!
There’s a reason there’s no real performance included in the demo… and
that’s because it would directly contradict what the demo states and how it’s presented.
I love
Penguin Magic, and have given them a lot of my business over the years, and I’ll continue to do so…
but this is very disappointing.
The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars and not just 1 star, is
because of the packaging and look of it. It looks classy, and professional, and can easily be
carried anywhere-anytime.
However, this is going straight into the junk drawer.
Hi, Please look at the 5th routine "The 4 Devil's Cups".
This is the one where the participant hides the die behind your back under any cup and can mix everything up as he likes.
The routines in Devil's Cups have impressed many professionals who now use them in their repertoire.
I encourage you to try them out in front of a real audience!
Contact customer service at Penguin and just ask if you can return them for credit or refund.
GabGab,
I appreciate the advice, but again… the performer is telling the spectators what to do. Whether or not the spectator knows exactly what going on is irrelevant. The demo makes it’s perfectly clear that the spectator shuffles freely and secretly. It’s absolutely, 100% is not Freely shuffled.
If I have to tell the spectator, “switch 2 empty cups, then switch a cup with another cup, this cup with that cup, change this cup for that cup etc etc etc. Then how exactly is that considered “freely”? And who in the world performs that way professionally? I’ve been performing for a living since 2004, and there’s no way I’d this for my clients.
If it works for you, then I’m happy for you, and I hope it brings you success. As for me… I will not risk the reputation I’ve built by performing this.
Totally agree with you Ronn!
Thanx for saving me room in the junk drawer! Thought it sounded a bit too good.
