This is a good trick, but I will probably never use it as I'll describe below.
The biggest
advantage is that it's very simple. An 8 year old can do it. In fact, it might be the first trick
you teach an aspiring young magician as it needs absolutely no sleigh of hand.
The second
advantage is that it uses just the standard deck of cards and they can be shuffled freely by the
spectator. You need to be careful with borrowed deck though cause the trick will not work with an
incomplete deck of cards.
There are a couple of disadvantages though:
1) The trick is
kind of long for what it is and it cannot be shortened. It's not too thrilling to go through all 52
cards twice...
2) It doesn't end in a "wow" moment. The trick has two phases, both take a
couple of minutes to go through and both end with you revealing a correct prediction. This means in
the second half the spectators are only going to get what they've seen and already expect.
So there you have it. If you already have even half a dozen tricks up your sleeve, this one will
probably be a bottom priority. The routine feels like a slightly less exciting game of war, though
the reveal is amusing. Teach it to a kid.
