I was previously using a Vernet Dye Tube and it works fine. I prefer this one because it has a
larger capacity, the holes are different sized, and it is soft.
I can load two 12 inch
silks inside. You can either do a chameleon silk routine or a half dyed silk routine without needing
multiple dye tubes or other silk gimmicks.
The holes are different sized as well. The hole
on the top is smaller diameter than the hole on the bottom. The top hole being smaller lets me hook
my finger in easier for steals or transfers. The bottom hole being larger means it is easy to remove
the silk from the gimmick as the silk is being magically dyed in my hand.
The gimmick is
also soft like a soft thumb tip. For thumbtips I prefer a hard plastic shell, but for the dye tube I
prefer this softer flexible material. The Vernet Dye Tube was hard plastic and slippery. This
material is easy to palm or clip.
The only real negative about this gimmick is that it is
not magnetic. With metal dye tubes you can use a magnet as a holdout. You will not be able to do
that here.
