Just finished reading this book. No tricks. Just a lot of good, interesting information about "The
Psychology of Magic" and what spectators and magicians think about different psychological aspects
of magic.
I am an amateur, but have been doing magic for quite a while, mainly for family and
friends.
From beginner to professional, I think that every level of magician would gain some
interesting insights into magic from this book. It is 6x9, very nicely bound, kind of like a
textbook. It is well written and easy to read. The ideas that the authors discuss are based on their
own scientific experiments/research as well as others, and there is a very good list of many
references to their material.
The authors spend quite a bit of time discussing different types
of forces and how spectators respond to these.
It's my opinion that this book, along with Joshua
Jay's "How Magicians Think" would be very beneficial for every level of magician to have in their
library, especially if you're interested in how and why people respond to magic the way they do. The
authors are always on the lookout for magicians willing to help and participate in their research.
