As somebody said, there is a lot that you have to know/learn and remember to pull this off. You do
have to practice/perform it quite a bit. If you are very experienced and used to doing this, then
you should be ok, otherwise you will discover that you should have practiced more or that your
memory is not what it used to be. IMHO this is not for beginners or people who don’t do this all of
the time. In the few performances many people unfortunately were not impressed. I know it is
probably the performer (me) :-)
I do understand where you are coming from,
particularly the deck being under the table and out
of the spectator's view at ANY time during the performance.
Then why the 5 Star review, right?
I fixed this issue, no need to bring deck under table, just use
clever patter as you thumb the top card and bottom card off together,
then continuing counting off from the top a few more cards.
I say something like, "Now in a moment, one of these Aces are going
to find the suit that you cut to. You then say, "Some magicians will count off cards like this until you say stop...but we are going to try it a different way". Then of course, you place the cards back on top. Then, you thumb down the corner of the deck until your spectator says stop, then fold the top half underneath, with your hands hiding the faces. I hope this helps.
