This is an example of egregiously poor customer service by t Secret Factory and Murphy’s Magic. Here
we have a very expensive item. It came in box filled with confetti rather than the usual slots for
proper storage of the gimmick. The shredded paper gets all over the place when the box is opened.
Unbelievable, for what I was charged.
Secondly, the tutorial was about seven minutes long.
There were no live performances. They also neglected to include any performance ideas. We purchase
magic, (especially pricey magic) for the gimmick AND additional intellectual property.
Lastly, the Murphy’s presentation of the tutorial is horrible as always. The password has to be
entered twice. It can only be downloaded to PC. To add insult to injury, a full screen mode was not
available. Additionally, the video had no sound. I have heard numerous complaints about Murphy’s
videos. The don’t seen to care about addressing these issues.
The bell itself works well. I
do believe customer service plays a huge part in product satisfaction. That’s why the deduction of
three stars. Maybe it’s time we stopped buying really expensive products until we are given value
for our hard earned money. Secret Factory and Murphy’s Magic could learn a great deal about how
customers should be treated from Penguin.
I understand your frustration. Usually Murphy's puts out very good teaching videos but this one is from Secret Factory and, if you were to hear it, it would probably be spoken in Japanese.
My biggest problem is the amount of time I had to do troubleshooting the issue I had where the bell would not ring.
Here is what I found:
When the magnet is in the base, the USB connection must be on the side of the bell and the switch is toward the non-bell side.
When the bell hangs, the clapper should hang about 3/8” (1 cm) below the bell. The bottom of the bell should hang about 1 ¾” (4.3 cm) blow the projecting horizontal rod.
It now works perfectly.
I completely agree with your assessment. Javier Fuenmayor Always does a great job in the Murphy’s tutorials.
I do feel it was Murphy’s responsibility to put out a proper tutorial since they are the distributors of the product. Far too often, I have purchased very expensive items only to be disappointed by the accompanying videos.
