I'll address the quality of the gimmick first since I don't have much to say about it.
The
magnetic holdout is actually stronger than I thought it might be. However the add copy states
something to the effect that it "appears to be an average eight ball" whic may be the case for UK
billiard balls. It however not the case for Americans. Knowing the size discrepancies of the two
nations I asked the help desk and was assured it's an average American eightball. THIS WAS FALSE!
the very first line of TCC website add copy states this.(guess they were too busy that day to give
proper info to a longtime monthly customer?)
Let's address the tutorial now! TCC continues to
put out weak tutorials and David Penns is probably the weakest of the many purchases I have bought
it is just over seven minutes and virtually nothing is taught in it other than the steal and a minor
subtly that most would do naturally. Even the card effects is glossed over with no insight on how to
achieve the black eight force. There is a world of effects that could have been taught on this
project, sadly not even the effects marketed along with the project are given any attention to. Many
beginning/intermediate magicians may find themselves at a complete loss with this purchase. Shame on
Penn and TCC for taking their consumers for granted, this could have easily been a five star
project.
Perhaps David should take note from his old-school partner Craig Petty and actually
give some usable material in his releases.
