Mr. Lovick's 'I Dream of Mindreading' is a great addition to my very limited card trick repertoire.
It comes with a couple variations involving marker cards, two by Lovick and one by Joshua Jay. These
are easily managed, since they have simplified the handling, no sleights or suspect moves. It's a
tight routine that can be embellished thematically or comically - played short or long.
The
surprise ending - showing all cards blank - is a mind-bender. A British magician recommended it to
me since he uses it in table-hopping at restaurants. He says it's by far the most effective part of
his routine. I took him a his word, and am glad I did. If you're going to do card magic, this is one
trick you shouldn't miss.
