When I first watched the effect, I sensed it would stretch me if I purchased it. And it did. BUT IT
WAS WORTH IT. There is a particular slight of hand move to learn and for me, it was a step up from
where I was at. I must have sat in front of the tele going over and over the move, dozens and dozens
of times, before it came naturally. BUT IT DOES EVENTUALLY COME NATURALLY.
Now! At my
workplace (a school) I am baffling my fellow staff and teachers there. They are dumbstruck at the
effect. I LOVE THE REACTIONS I AM GETTING. People are literally left speechless and open mouthed.
I should add: I used the torn corner for a while but eventually dumped it (and replaced the
card with another different coloured Bicycle Ace of clubs). It makes it soooo much easier to handle
the cards - especially at the start when you collect them out of the deck (there's nothing to hide
as all four come out faces up - completely shown full face).
My way does make inserting the
cards back into the small handful of cards, a little be more precise but its actually pretty easy to
ever so slightly spread the bottom edges in a kind of thin fan, and then put each card back where it
needs to go.
All that to say: IT IS A GREAT TRICK. The reactions you get when you do it
smoothly.... are so encouraging.
This clever effect taught me a new and slightly harder
slight of hand method than I was used to, and I am so glad I persevered with it. Honestly, if I can
nail it, anyone can nail it with dedicated practice.
