I took the right out of the box and into my show with a very basic routine that went over much
better than I expected...
Then I put it on the shelf for a couple months and worked out a
much more involved and polished routine and patter. When I was ready, I was excited to get it back
out and try out.
Unfortunately, it only worked one or two more times in practice and then
would not work. The beak either does not open or the neck does not move to the right place to grab a
card.
I am handy, but there are not really any exposed mechanical parts to fiddle with or
to attempt a repair. There are some other reviews out there that say the quality is not good, but I
expected to be able to deal with any issues - but barring a full, destructive disassembly there is
nothing one could do to repair on your own.
Penguin did help out but the product itself is
not well made and won't last. I don't think I would trust it even as a backup.
That said I
do like the effect and hope I can re-purpose the routine I worked out.
