Unfortunately, it only worked one or two more times in practice and then would not work. The beak either does not open or the neck does not move to the right place to grab a card.

I am handy, but there are not really any exposed mechanical parts to fiddle with or to attempt a repair. There are some other reviews out there that say the quality is not good, but I expected to be able to deal with any issues - but barring a full, destructive disassembly there is nothing one could do to repair on your own.

Penguin did help out but the product itself is not well made and won't last. I don't think I would trust it even as a backup.

That said I do like the effect and hope I can re-purpose the routine I worked out.

I have been waiting for this goose for so long, since it was not on sale, and now it pleased me. It's fun to play with him, but you have to adapt. He can grab the card the first time, or maybe the second, which is also interesting. Several cards can be grabbed one at a time many times. Lots of options. I plan to close the goose's eyes with a handkerchief, for example ("so as not to peek at the cards"). Two small light bulbs can be attached to the scarf, which will glow and as if he wants to secretly peek at the cards. Light bulbs can be operated remotely from the control panel. In general, you can play a whole performance. There is a place for creativity! I highly recommend goose.

As always, Penquinmagic service is undoubtedly superb from packaging to shipping, love the video clip notification. About the Duck; the quality is great and I like to give a FIVE STAR but there's a mechanical issue. There's a pull hesitation that causes the duck not to go all the way to grab the card without a few attempts. You have to pull the mechanical device almost straight down instead of usual angle to make it work properly. Maybe it's just mine, I am not sure.

Better than what I expected, very animated, Can't wait to use it, really nice finish, should last a life time. If your thinking of using one of these in your act- don't hesitate.. buy it, you won't be disappointed.
