For an effect like this that does not use electronics in any way, it's good. This is fairly easy to
perform, though you'll need to develop a good presentation because they don't offer much here. The
move needed to create the number tag is easy to master, and anyone familiar with this type of trick
will probably already be ready for it.
There are two weaknesses of the trick. First,
loading the key fob is going to be a little clumsy. Plan on doing it in stages if possible because a
direct execution of it will look very suspicious. Second, the reveal looks exactly like an
electronic version reveal. You are doing more work to create pretty much the same result. And how
many hotel keys have you ever seen with numbers like that? None.
If they had included
blank stickers so you could just write out the numbers (it still wouldn't be engraved but it would
look a little more like the real thing) that would have helped. You can indeed cut some out on your
own, but you'll have to be patient and precise because it's rounded.
All in all, this is a
nice pocket trick that will use up a few minutes of your show with little space taken up. You can
use any pad (they include one as well) and the only other thing you'll need is a marker. If you are
willing to put the work into it, it will probably serve you well.
