The Mr. Magic Zombie Ball is made in India; and, is well made of spun aluminum with the proper wall
thickness of the shell halves to give it good structural stability. Back in the 70s and 80s,
so-called Economy Zombie Balls which were imported from India at that time were made with a much
thinner gauge aluminum, resulting in a ball which was too flimsy when the shell halves were joined
together. This is NOT the case with the Mr. Magic Zombie Ball. While you could spend much more money
on a higher precision-made Pro Level ball, this ball is perfectly acceptable - especially for
practice - even more so at the current Penguin 20% Off Sale Price with the approximately 33”x33”
Foulard of a very good weight included. The ball is a 5.25” / 133mm Diameter Ball with a gimmick
acceptor of just slightly wider than the standard 7/8” port; HOWEVER, a bonus with internal the
high-walled style port used on the Mr. Magic Zombie Ball, is the preferred style port IF you are
going to vanish the ball into a ‘Top-It in the Tails” at the climax of your routine - however, that
is an advanced move which requires the ball can slide off the gimmick SMOOTHLY with gravity ONLY;
and that is what the internal high-walls of the port provide to you; BUT, the downside for
Beginners and those who don’t need a ball they can ‘dump’, results in prop which is less secure than
balls with internal short walls, which helps to ‘bite’ into the gimmick a bit more when the ball and
gimmick is maneuvered at extreme angles. The only part of this package which is not the best, is
the gimmick itself. The gimmick is the standard 14” length used by almost all mass produced Zombie
Balls; and breaks-down into 2 parts for easy packing and storage; however, most magicians will
likely use their favorite gimmick from another brand of ball, or, modify this one with a long thin
flat black tube of fabric material - like a flat shoelace - and pad the finger insert section for a
perfect custom fit and comfort - which you are going to want. A little black vinyl tape will help
increase the thickness of the cork to give you the increased tightness you might prefer. The
included directions are NOT going to teach a Beginner HOW TO PERFORM THE ILLUSION CONVINCINGLY, as
the included instructions will only show you HOW IT WORKS - this a huge difference. For the needed
instruction on how properly present the Zombie Ball, check-out any of the DVDs which teach the
effect; and classic books specifically on the Zombie Ball by people like Lewis Ganson, Merlyn T.
Shute, Ian Adair, and, the Zombie Master himself, Neil Foster.
