A couple of key points,
1. Kyle says this trick isn't "for lefties" but it is certainly
difficult if you are not a lefty. Performing an action while keeping cards aligned in your opposite
hand, is not easy.
2. Kyle uses a particular sleight multiple times throughout the trick. The
first time, you have ample cover for the move, making the construction of the trick very strong at
that point but the second time he uses the sleight, you don't have the same cover which makes it
highly risky and perhaps unnecessary.
3. I appreciate that Kyle reviewed the routine at a
quicker speed at the end of the download but there are so many moves involved that his quick speed
was too quick to follow which leads to a lot of frustration and going back and forth in the video
while your hands are holding cards in weird ways that you don't want to mess up.
4. Kyle doesn't
reference back to the performance very much during the explanation so as a first time learner of the
trick, you may find yourself constantly going "what is the effect at this part supposed to be?" For
Kyle, it is crystal clear because he's done the routine a million times but for a learner, it can be
difficult to remember what phase of the routine he is up to and where you are presenting where the
cards are vs where the cards actually are.
5. I found the end of the trick pretty convoluted
after the main effect of visually moving the pip. From that point, why go through all the bother of
doing more switches and creating chaos where the two is here so the ace must be here... but no
that's the ace so the two must be here... no its just the 3.
The ending of the effect seems ripe
for someone to workshop and come up with a simpler and better ending. Honestly, seems like something
Kyle Purnell would be good at.
In totality, people are buying this to learn how to visually
create an illusion so good that it looks gimmicked but its really impromptu. You will learn how to
do that, so you're getting what you want albeit with some difficulty if you're not a lefty. After
that, I think the routine can use some work.
