I purchased the journal and an additional product from Pitata. Both products arrived with
issues and are not practical for professional use.
The journal itself has charging issues,
but worse, it cannot be used safely. No mentalist would feel comfortable using this gimmick, as when
the notebook is in the hands of a volunteer, they could accidentally lift (almost always) several
pages at once—immediately exposing the gimmick. The only effective way to use this product is within
a deck of cards. For that purpose, it’s better to use the Cipher gimmick, which costs a tenth of the
journal's price. Moreover, you’ll have to cut the shield for such use, and Pitata refuses to take
responsibility for this.
When I requested to return the unused product, I initially
received no response for four days. Only after following up and threatening to file a complaint with
PayPal (which is being written as we speak) did they respond—refusing to refund me for the
ineffective and non-functional product. Outrageous! Protect your money.
