If you're into magic, the method isn't much of a mystery. But laypeople...wow. This one gets "what
the F**K!!!!!!!" reactions! I've even done it over Zoom--and when I bring the penny up close to the
camera, you can literally watch them lose their minds as they figure out what they're seeing!
I have one patter improvement to offer, though. Instead of saying, "I'm going to use the penny
to find your card," say, **"The penny is going to identify your card."**
That way, after
you've tossed the coin into the deck, and they think you've messed up, you can now say, "No,
no--what I said was, the penny is going to IDENTIFY your card! LOOK AT THE PENNY!"
It's
much stronger, because they realize that you'd been saying it correctly the whole time—they just
made a different assumption about the word "identify."
Anyway. Fantastic trick that
absolutely fries 'em!
