Ok, I made sure not to read Girspiggys review of this, that way mine wouldn't be similar. I haven't
read his yet, and I will after I write mine.
Ok, so it doesn't say too much about this,
other than it is a very clean sandwitch effect. And seeing the demo, many of you were turned off by
the fact that it is another sandwitch effect, right? Cause it is just another generic sandwitch
effect, right?
Wrong. Well, you were right too, but let me get to the part you were wrong
about.
While the effect itself is the same, almost all sandwitches are the same. Some with
mayonase, some with mustard, and then if you go to Alvo's, you are bound to order a 6 dollar
sandwitch that consists of just two slices of bread but just a MAJOR punch.
But seriously
folks, this sandwitch effect has one quality not many others do. It is tottally hands off. All you
are doing is introducing your buddies who shall help with the effect. Not to mention that it gives a
sense of modesty, if you chose to use Alvo's patter.
But back to the review for now.
Quality of Download:
The quality is fine, you can learn from it, but with all Penguin
videos, the audio plays a little before the video, which annoys me but I think is just my computer.
The download is a tad short but I had no problems learning.
Teaching and Teacher:
Alvo is a super creative guy, and he puts out some great, Paul Harris type offbeat stuff. He
does say "Ummm..." A LOT, but you still have no problem with learning from it.
Hair:
Alvo has some awesome hair in this video. I put that in for two reasons. One: It makes this
review look bigger. Two: It may be the deciding factor for many of you to buy this.
You can
see his hair and the trick in this video:

Trick itself:
The method will surprise you. It is SOOO clean and trust me, you
will not see it coming. It is a SUPER old principle, and you kinda have to perform this exact
version to get a sense of how clean it is. Also, the spectators leave with a sense of, "He didn't
even touch the deck!!!".
Difficulty:
This... I would rate the difficulty a 1/5,
five bieng the hardest trick. This actually would get a negative number, were that to make any
logical sense. Anyway, I watched half of it and performed it perfectly. If you can cut a deck, you
can do this trick. I do advise however you can do a charlier cut, but that is just me. It isn't
nessisary to do so for the effect to take place.
Price:
The price is a tad steep
for what you recieve, but hey, if you will perform it, it is worth it. (And I am not saying that
cause I got it for free.)
As wierd as this sounds, buying this and feeling like you got
your monies worth is kinda like hypnosis. If you don't want to, you can't be hypnotized. If you want
to feel like you got your monies worth, then you will. And I do, or would have if I paid for it.
Overall:
This trick has good teaching, a simple method and a nice, modest effect.
I feel that this trick, gets a solid 4/5 for it's simplicity. Very nice Alvo, keep these and the
formal realeases coming!
*Disclaimer:
Alvo is the most generous guy out there.
That is all. Return to your daily lives. (Not much of a disclaimer, but it makes this review bigger,
so...)
