This book is a page-turner, written in very catchy prose, and will definitely get you thinking. For
me and many others, the most inspiring part of the book is Joshua's "Billion Monkeys Book Test." The
work Joshua has done with "Billion Monkeys" takes one of the most troubling problems with book tests
(why do you need a book? shouldn't someone be able to just think of a word and then you "read their
mind?") and offers a very clever solution. Potentially, you could even do this with a caller over
the phone, radio, etc. This technique alone is worth more than the price of the book, and will make
it look like you can really read someone's mind. Combined Joshua's "Billion Monkeys" with Banachek's
"Brain Game" at the right moment, and someone could walk away thinking you have supernatural powers.
That being said, some of Joshua's ideas may not always come across as the most practical.
You might find yourself saying "That's nice, but it would never suit me.." But, if you put the
necessary time, effort, and inspiration into making Joshua's ideas work for you, then you will be
rewarded many times over. In the right hands, this is a book that will serve as a constant spring of
inspiration and a model for how mentalists should continue to think, play, and work into the 21st
century.
