This is a very unique book, in that it is not written like your typical magic book. The book is
written in narrative form from the point of view of Joshua Jay and it details a night of sessioning
with Joel Givens. This makes the book a great, entertaining read, as there are ups and downs just
like any other narrative, with hecklers, cute waitresses, and the like. I've gone back to this book
about 3 times now. I happened to pick it up when I was relatively young in magic, so I found most of
the material too difficult for my skill level. However, upon revisiting it, more and more gems are
popping up. I love Joel's Laser Aces, a variation on a Paul Harris effect, and Joel's thinking is
very insightful.
