The reference book for coin magic. No magician should be without this book. At under $10, this
is a gold mine of material. The book is appropriately broken down into chapters that go from the
basic sleights to most major facets of coin magic. You start with the foundations of coin magic,
the utility switches, the vanishes, and the palms.
There are literally hundreds of tricks
to choose from in this tome so plan on spending a lot on time on the varied chapters. Aside from
the excellent basic teaching of palms, switches and vanishes, you get chapters transpositions, color
changes, gaffed coins, shells, sleeving, and finally full routines such as the Miser's Dream. My
favorite are the copper/silver tricks and there is some amazing, in-the-spectator's hand
transpositions.
A few downsides to this fabulous book. First, the book is no longer
"modern" as some of text is from a by-gone era. Largely, the text translates well into modern
patter and attire. Second, a lot of the new, types of coin gaffs are not covered by this book.
Overall, this book could keep you busy for years.
