The reference book for coin magic. No magician should be without this book. At under $10, this
is a gold mine of material. The book is appropriately broken down into chapters that go from the
basic sleights to most major facets of coin magic. You start with the foundations of coin magic,
the utility switches, the vanishes, and the palms.
There are literally hundreds of tricks
to choose from in this tome so plan on spending a lot on time on the varied chapters. Aside from
the excellent basic teaching of palms, switches and vanishes, you get chapters transpositions, color
changes, gaffed coins, shells, sleeving, and finally full routines such as the Miser's Dream. My
favorite are the copper/silver tricks and there is some amazing, in-the-spectator's hand
transpositions.
A few downsides to this fabulous book. First, the book is no longer
"modern" as some of text is from a by-gone era. Largely, the text translates well into modern
patter and attire. Second, a lot of the new, types of coin gaffs are not covered by this book.
Overall, this book could keep you busy for years.

This book is obviously the Bible for coin workers, but if you're just interested in coin magic and
are looking for a couple of good coin tricks I think you'd be better off with Noblezada's coin magic
DVD!
This is a very thorough and in-depth book, but I think there are better options for
those of you looking for coin routines to add to your acts.

magic for me. There's not much to say but that there is no other resource on coin magic that even
rivals this book, and if you are into coins you just simply have to get this. It's an amazing book
that can and will turn you into a coin master if you learn from it.

This is a must have for any magician at any level. If you're new to coin magic, then this will give
you the basics. Even if you're a pro, this book will give you ideas for new routines. For any
magician into coins, it all starts here.

I usually try to stay away from reviewing classic texts of magic, but this is a MUST. It doesn't
matter how long you've been into magic for. You need this book. COin magic is almost all of what I
do and I learned a ton from this book. A few of the tricks are a little outdated but others are
really good and can work wonders for you. WIth a lot of them, you can grab a coin and do a full 20
minute show with it. Others might require 2 or 5 coins. Some use gimmicks, some aren't gimmicked.
There is also a really nice miser's dream and historical section towards the back of the book. My
favorite part is the Okito story, how it came to be. PLEASE BUY NOW!

This is the bible of coin magic! If you are into coin magic in the slightest bit, then you need this
book! This is like an encyclopedia of coin magic. Bobo goes into grave detail discussing many
different vanishes, appearances, tricks, etc. He even covers topics such as shells, coin magic on
stage, and sleeving. There are so many illustrations in this book; it makes it very clear and easy
to learn. At 350+ pages, this is a fantastic introduction to coin magic. I highly recommend it!

Get it. That's my review. Bye!....I'm kidding, there's more. Just imagine "In the Beginning There
Were Coins" but in book form and with a truckload of more material. Every single magician needs this
book. For $10 you're getting 116 sleights and 236 tricks. You will learn all the basics and lots
of intermediate and advanced stuff. At the end there are 17 full routines that were put together
with tricks from the book. My highest recommendations.

Although I only read some pages, from the first few pages-this is what I thought-"This-is-SOOOOO
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I knew the basics of coin magic before this book and a couple of
routines, but I never had enough routines.
This book changes it all.
I learned many coin
tricks, just from reading the pages I read.
There is even some stuff on coin boxes and coin
gimmicks.
I highly recommend you get it,even though it is old.

This book is an extremely valuable addition to my library. It teaches alot about the technique as
well as sleights, vanishes, and even the history behind this branch of magic. I will never stop
reading this book probably, as I am constantly finding things that I didn't notice before and my
tricks and ability with coins are constantly growing. Notice that most of theses things require
alot of practice and dedication.
In the preface it says "There is and unfortunate trend
among those who dabble in magic, and even those who rate themselves as magicians, to avoid anything
that requires a little study adn practice and to rely on tricks that work themselves, tricks 'that
can be done five minutes after you receive them,' as we see advertised so often." This was said by
Jean Hugard. This book stands very true to this day on magical coin technique. It has not only
taught me many things about the magic, but it has also taught me that magic is about practise and
dedication, and there are a lot of problems with people and their easy selfworking tricks. This is
purely sleight of hand and magic technique. If this bothers you, then you aren't really a magician.
Period. Add to cart, now, and begin working on one of the best purchases you will get from penguin
magic. A classic.
