I don't give up easily on a trick that has potential to be a killer trick. Unfortunately, I just
could not consistently spin the coin. When it does work, it is a very pretty levitation effect. I
just don't see this as practical. I guess if you love IT work, you'll make it work. For me, the
set up is not practical. Kudos to those who make it work for them. Upside is that you get a good
supply of IT to play with. Check out the IT set up in David Regal's book, Approaching Magic if you
are looking for something a little different and very practical.
Indeed Regal does have a fantastic hookup in that book (thanks for reminding me about it), but that's a totally irrelevant point. You can't use his hookup to levitate a coin under any circumstance. Essentially what you've done is point out you don't like the 21 card trick, and instead you should check out the Zig Zag Illusion.
