WOW! The device was very clever. Alan is a very creative thinkers. I showed this to my friends and
some random kids and they are all freaking out! The teaching is really easy to follow and to
understand! But, this effect FAILED to pass my test. My father figured it out easily! He told me why
put the bla.. bla.. bla.. Another thing is this trick will not work twice on the same person! It is
obvious! It is up to you whether to buy this or not. But, I suggest you get Alan Rorrison's Night
and Day DVD.
I've been doing this trick since it first hit the market. I have repeated it for the same audience on occasion but, as far as I know, I've never been caught. I think it is a matter of performance style. If you do the same trick, exactly the same way every time, someone might figure it out. I change up the story or the form or what I am doing then folks don't know what the trick is going to be until it happens and then its too late to watch for it.
I have yet to ever have anyone figure this out. As Skipumc eluded, it's all about performance style - and I'll add execution. Of course your spectator is going to question your actions and become suspicious of things if you don't have a logical reason for doing the things you do. All it takes is a little creativity, since there are numerous times during any performance when it's only natural to need to free up your hands for a moment. If you don't have the acting skills to pull it off, then simply do it on the off-beat when the heat isn't on you - no pun intended!
