Magic Tricks

First off, this is a good price for the set. You get four DVDs and some great tricks. If Pip Streak hadn't also been included with the set my rating probably would have been lower, because it's such a great trick! I'll put a separate review in for Pip Streak later.

The "In Action" set is generally pretty strong magic, and Greg's teaching is very clear and thorough. There is a good mix of simple effects that a beginner could learn and use right away, all the way up through effects that will take a good amount of practice to get to performance level.

If I had any complaints there would be two:

1. Some of the tricks are more like gags, or are just way too ballsy for me to do with borrowed objects...or a person's food. That doesn't mean they're bad, they're just not for me.

2. Some of the best stuff you'll see on the DVDs are performance only. I really liked Recapped and Sticks & Stones, and was disappointed they were not taught. If they had been put into the previews for other products I wouldn't have really minded, but as they were part of the actual disc contents I found it sad.

I would recommend that you buy this set if you want a good selection of solid tricks for a beginner or intermediate level performer. If you've been in magic a while, you probably have a lot of similar effects already in your repertoire.
