The review "Anonymous from UK on January 31st, 2010" is excellent, but I wanted to add another
"thumbs up" for the Renegade Triumph. It looks slightly less elegant but no less magical, with an
amazing payoff: it is incredibly easy, can be done entirely in the hands, and has a double kicker
ending after the magic seems to happen right in the spectator's hands. It's a wonderful handling
both technically and presentationally. The "sleight of hand" required seems so obvious you'll be
glad the performance came first because not noticing it will be the only thing that makes you feel
your spectators won't; and after a number of performances, nobody suspects a thing!
There
are plenty of places to learn the classic routine (I would instead recommend "Michael Ammar - Easy
to Master Card Miracles - Volume 1" which will also teach you a ton of other great classics at a
lower price) but as someone who likes to affect a certain roughness or clumsiness anyway (which can
be easily exaggerated with Renegade), I can't see going back after learning the Renegade handling.
So at the end of the day, I feel like I bought this DVD for one new handling of a classic
trick... but still don't feel unhappy about that. Having a powerful impromptu effect I can do
anywhere, anytime, with a borrowed deck and no table, and almost no skill... that's a heck of a
trick.
