While this is indeed a trick deck, I need to make mention that you have to have a regular deck to
perform the effects. The beauty of this Ontology deck is that it is divided into four parts for the
four tricks, so you could set up four different decks of cards and be ready to perform any or all of
these during the course of an evening. They are independent of each other and to me that is a big
plus.
No, you are not going to end clean in any of these, but that is just a matter of
controlling your audience. You don't end clean with an Invisible Deck, yet that doesn't stop anyone
from using it. During the "Deepest Sympathy" routine there is one part where you are so exposed you
might feel nervous, but it's just a matter of crowd control. Keep your audience from going past 10
and 2 and you are fine. Angles are important for many effects so that's not a big deal.
"Triumphant" alone is worth buying this effect. Spend practice time with this, put in some work
on a few cards, and you will leave them speechless.
All in all, sitting down for one
evening you could learn all four effects and perform absolute miracles. No, you couldn't do all four
of these in one sitting (unless you did four decks switches) but if you pick the right one as a
closer for your act you will blow your audience away. Even magicians will look at this and wonder
how you did it.
