I see some not so good reviews on this, but I find this totally excellent! First, you don't have to
be great with a riffle shuffle. Come-on! Anyone can do a riffle shuffle. You can even just push
the two ends together without doing the fan finish. Also, he teaches some really cool ways to
reveal cards. I personally don't like the idea of showing that all the cards have "found" their
mate after shuffling. I think it is more powerful to have spectators cut to three or four cards and
have a unique way of revealing up to four cards. There are so many easy ways to do so. He teaches
some really cool ways to reveal the cards, and there are many that are easily done, such as a false
cut, putting the pack behind the back and just pulling out the card, turn the deck over and flip the
card from the bottom as you pretend to cut to the middle (he teaches this one, and it is awesome!),
or any number of other ways. Also, due to the nature of the effect where you are pulling up the
pairs for any card they select, it lends itself to a lot of entertainment. I like to use a
match-maker theme to see if people have the "true love gene". I go around the table performing the
match to whatever card they cut to for each person, however, for one person, their match never comes
up. Magicians never want to have a "trick go wrong". However, people just want to be entertained.
It is a lot of fun to have everyone but one person's match come up. For this person, I end by doing
a simple force of the two of diamonds on them and I have a specially prepared two of hearts in an
envelope in my pocket. For example, prepare a gimmick as follows: Cut out a heart from any card and
glue is to a metal shim. Erase one of the hearts from a card using a stiff ink eraser. Place a
small flat magnet under the card and the shimmed heart on top of the card where the heart was
erased. When you take out the two of hearts, show it to them and "pull" the heart into your hand
using the magnet underneath as you hand them the card as a souvenir saying "Don't sweat it, you only
need to find one true love". I like to write an inspirational saying on the card and sign and date
it. This gives them a souvenir they will likely keep. You could put your website on the card if
you like. I tell them to use it as a bookmark. This is a great effect and I highly recommend it.
