This is one of the most poorly made DVDs I have purchased. The "background" music is extremely LOUD
and the instructions, which are cursory at best, are inaudible.
One would think that at the
price charged, the product would be of much higher quality.
All videos have strengths and weaknesses.
Strength: a strong, impromptu, well routine, carry-in-your-pocket effect with a novel kicker ending.
Weaknesses: The music is unnecessarily loud. The instructional audio is too soft and difficult to listen to. Telling does not equal teaching. Sheets tells but hardly teaches. It is clear he has not broken down this effect into discrete distinctive features. For example, the starting position works best when you turn the right-hand palm up. Place two dice on right index finger. The end of the right-hand die is at the proximal interphalangeal joint, the joint closest to the hand. To secure the dice, place the right thumb on top of the two dice; the end of the thumb at a slight extends to the end of the left side of the die.
Considerable practice is required to do the roll move while keeping the dice together and not making obvious changes of the hand. The kicker ending is easy IF you start in the right position. Mastering the sequential steps in the routine requires much tenacity. Purchase this DVD only if you are prepared to make an extensive commitment to mastering it. If you make that commitment, the end will probably justify the means, despite inevitable points of frustration.
