A lot of bad reviews stem from the quality of the materials provided for the gimmick. I think what
Alex Kolle intended was to provide standardised gimmicks that can be easily customised to fit each
individual's requirements, and at the same time provide convenience so that one can immediately
start making the gimmick without having to source for materials outside.
With that being
said, that is also its downfall. The ideal materials are what you already 100% have lying around at
home. But it takes a lot more effort and time to make it. Penguin includes a brilliant, ingenious
step-by-step guide that really validates a re-release. If you're willing to put in the effort, this
can potentially be one of your best purchases. Wear and tear actually makes the gimmick look better
so there's no need to worry about replacements - something that the DVD comes with anyway.
