What does Kenton Knepper,Richard Ostirland and Doc have in common? They truly love the people in
their audiences. They connect with them and the audience is on their side. The material on this
Vol. is excellent - but again there are no new methods or new moves - as a matter of fact some of it
is very easy technically. But as in all mentalism -it's success depends on the presentational skills
of the performer. Take for example "Nightmare Coin" - a very simple coin trick performed to an
engrossing story. You can see the audience being drawn into the tail and at the end the shock on
their face was amazing. Again more presentational then technical. David Alexander does an
excellent job of interviewing Doc and covers all the important handling details and the more
important what to do if something goes wrong. Rhineless ESP- is a two person code that is worth the
price of the tape. Doc goes into detail of how will use this with Corporate clients and teach the
code to say the CEO and make him look like a star. Very powerful and one I am defiantly going to
use. 1-In 10 is another great piece and a lesson in how to routine an effect. 40,000 Words - is a
simple and great Dictionary Test - using an old principle. Doc has taken the weak points - tweaked
them and made a very entertaining worker.
I am not sure why this series has gotten some bad
reviews. Maybe as previously stated people were looking for new method. These are workers for real
people. But they do require presentational skills. Also you need to know what type of venue you
are performing for. Nightmare Coin would not be appropriate for walk around but sitting at a dinner
table this could be an unforgettable performance piece long remembered after coins thru table, matrix
or other coin tricks. The difference this has an emotional hook and provides meaning.
Recommend starting with Vol.1 then try this one - Highly recommended
