Ok, So I actualy bought this from the only magic shop in my county that's left. I was actually
getting it because of a few reasons, but wound up with a list of Ten... Enjoy!
1. My
Illusionist mind is evolving more into the curiousity and love for and of - Packet tricks
2. It comes in a nice DVD Case, with all needed cards... and the cards are really nice.. not
just something you can conjure up from decks you may or may not have laying around. Plus the dvd was
nicely put together and is pretty crisp on picture quality and sound... and the camera person knows
what they're doing.
3. I got it for a really nice price!
4: It's got my name in
the title!...(Nuff...Said)
5: It's literally the first effect that I've bought in a decade,
that required me to actually pay attention to the dvd and watch it all the way through! Normally
when I buy any kind of Magic item, If I've seen it performed at least twice (Even in the trailer),
my mind can reverse mechanisize the effect.. and I'll figure it out - along with my own suitable
patter. This one I had to watch twice.. which is pretty impressive.
6: It's got awesome
Psychology behind everything, from the timing and structure of the routine, to the reasons why it
actually works! (I love Psychology!)
7: The included cards aren't some cheap set of
gimmicked Bicycle cards... They're really elegant and complement the routines included (2 of them)
8: They aren't just another "Spin" or "Flip" trick... John designed it to rekind one's love
for working with both packet tricks, and the moves needed to make the routine come to life!
9: It's actually taking me ten reasons to list why it's really a great effect for the price!
(Which I don't usually go further than 3 reasons)
10: repeat #9 then go to #1, work your
way back to #10.. and let the information be absorbed by your Sub-Concious Mind...!
Now,
for the things I don't much care for (but still don't mind)
1: You either need to know the
Elmsley Count, or need to pay good and close attention when watching the "Tell" Section. (I had to
learn it from this dvd)
2: John mentions during the "Tell" Section, that in the "Appendix"
(Which none of the menu selections are named) - that if you don't know said Elmsley Count... that it
will be explained at the end of the dvd in said Appendix section (Which apparently is named
something else, or doesn't exist)
3: The second included routine (Found in the "More"
section) doesn't use the same cards the packet comes with, but can be found in any deck you
currently work with - IF you're already a card worker
4: The price in said magic shop was
price gouged. (But my credentials with the shop owner are Superb, so I paid half price!)
5:
needing 5 reasons why I wasn't completely pleased with the effect (But I'm still happy so just
ignore the last four reasons and click ADD TO CART)
Over all, Quality and quantity of this
Vs. Price - Worth it if you either love packet tricks or Ace effects. (I personally believe that
you get more in the case than you pay for)
Well thanks for taking time to read my review,
I'm sure that by now if you didn't find it helpful (And I'm sure you did), then you at least found
it humorus and that's just what The Doctor (Me) ordered!
The above review is a bit raunchy
and doesn't give enough of a case to prove it's point. I believe that if you're going to take the
time to write one out, then take your time and don't half a** the information you portray. You never
know what young or old mind you mind or might not be inspiring.. And I'm sure we can all agree...
That's just lazy and unfair! This is a site by Magicians -for Magicians! - Not Faceb**k (Drama)
Till next time...! (Walks in TARDIS... TARDIS Dematerializes)
