These DVDs really are great. I started out buying just the first one alone, then went on to
separately purchase the other two volumes because I liked the first one so much. The routines on
here are pretty damn cool and these coin routines are ones that I'll practice and keep in my
repetoire for ever. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because of the fact that
in order to do a majority of the routines you need to get gaff decks and gaff coins, specifically a
flipper coin, an expanded shell, a red/blue backed deck, and some sticky tack. (I knew I need the
flipper because that's obvious, but not all the other stuff.) It would also be wise to get some
chinese coins. I really wish that before a customer purchases an item like this we would have some
way of knowing the extent of the gaffs required so that we could a) not purchase the video because
we can't offord a DVD plus a crapload of gaffs or b) buy the DVD and gaffs simultaneously so that
when it came time to watch the freakin thing we could actually do the routines. If there's one thing
I hate it's having to skip through a bunch of routines because I didn't know I needed extra stuff.
I'm not complaining about the neccessity for the gaffs because the routines that encorporate them
are stunning, I'm just saying...give us a hint!
I give this review one star because of the whiney tone. These "extra" items are standard items in magician's bag of tricks. They're not an extra cost, they are an investment in yourself. If you bought a video on how to fix a leaky faucet, would you complain because you thought the wrench, rags and pad to lie on were included? Get serious. If you become adept at these tricks you can earn money with what you learned from Troy!
