As Dan Harlan noted during this Penguin LIVE event, Bob Cassidy wanted the lecture to be free-form,
and it was. I would hesitate to call this a lecture, though there were aspects of that. Bob taught
the same effects he did on Mental Miracles, however, this event was so much more. It was like
getting to hang out with Bob and pick his brains. I tried to watch the event live, but I had
problems with the connection, so I abandoned it. When I downloaded the lecture and began watching
it, there were times I regretted I was not able to submit questions (which I would have done while
it streamed live). But, despite that, I felt that the questions that were submitted, along with
those from Dan and the audience, covered everything I would wanted asked.
There is so much
to learn from the conversations. In a matter of minutes, Bob gave a wonderful approach to Jazz Q&A
(not explored in-depth, but he gives a way to get at least three questions ahead). It wasn't a full
Q&A act, but the pointers were incredible, stuff I had never heard anywhere else. He also, in mere
seconds, explains the basics of The Return of the White Dwarf.
Like Richard Osterlind did
with his first L&L DVD (in that he basically taught his complete act), Bob essentially taught his
act. Wait to you see the new stuff he came up with for his Name/Place Routine.
Also, I have
a TeleThought Peek Wallet that I have not used lately, when I heard Bob and Dan talk about making
things even more impossible (very late in the lecture), I thought I need to dust off the TeleThought
Wallet.
I very much enjoyed this. Some of the language I felt was unnecessary, but that is
what you get with Bob. His persona and my persona are not the same, but I learned a lot from him.
