Kids absolutely love bubbles, and that's what sets this trick apart. I use this trick to illustrate a lesson how moments of time come and go like the bubbles. I make a lot of bubbles. When I finally produce the solid ball, I explain that we can hold onto the best moments by keeping them in our memory. The production of the solid "bubble" is actually pretty easy to do partly because the bubbles themselves are a huge misdirection.
