Magic Tricks

First, I love this effect. Very nice upgrade to modern day, very easy to relate to, everyone uses flash drives. However, there are two things that I feel need improvement.

First, and this isn't a big deal, but it would be nice if at least one of the drives was real. I realized I can modify the fake drive to house a real one, so no biggie. I don't take points for this because it stated the drives weren't real when I bought it. It just would have been cool to have the DvD ON the real drive, but oh well.

The main reason I take off points is there is a major oversight with the props. Because of the way these props are colored, you end dirty. You end with the “dirty” drive in your hand. The long drive is the same color as the solid one. If the long drive was the opposite color of the solid one, you could end the routine with two solid, fully examinable drives, with no major change in the routine. This oversight is why I took off a star. I don't understand how such an easy fix went unnoticed, though I suspect it was because the creator wanted to do the last phase the way he does. Given that magicians prefer to end clean, this should have been changed.

If you want to end clean, you still can if you modify the drives. The color is a separate piece glued, so I found thin rubber and removed the solid black drive's color panels and replaced them with a different red color, as well as the red panels on the double sided drive, so they match. I also gave the solid drive a real drive.

Overall this is a great effect, I recommend it if you think it suits your style, but be aware of these issues. Still worth it to me.
