Very smart trick and plays great.
I gotta say the teaching on the DVD was excellent and
quite thorough. The gimmick materials provided were great too.
One method kind of involves
a force and I think forces are often obvious (probably because I'm not always great at forces) but
the trick really does not depend at all on a force - so - I actually decided to twist the idea a bit
and did it as a tossed deck, free selection which is then cut to the middle of the deck which at
that point then uses Bill's preferred technique going forward (he suggests this as an alternate
idea on the dvd).
Hilariously when I did this at a big performance recently I forgot to
have the volunteer sign the card - but even forgetting to do that the trick still went off amazingly
well and really wowed the audience.
If I were to be critical (and I love the trick)I'd say
the toughest part involves the handling of the shotglass production - but - it's really not
difficult in the slight of hand category (it's ultra easy actually) - but the complete production of
the shot glass with liquid requires a move that is for a second awkward and then immediately
forgiven because of how cool the effect is. I'm sure with practice I can make it look smoother - and
again the move is ULTRA easy - nothing new to learn any beginner can do it - but - without giving
anything away it calls slight attention to itself without giving away what you're doing as it would
be impossible for anyone to guess.
Bill has put together a complete five star trick and
routine and I cannot recommend it any higher. It's very easy to do and an audience mindbender!
