There are some problems here:
1. You need to do this in a setting where a bottle of Pabst
Blue Ribbon is being served/drunk.
2. I have drunk a lot of of Blue Ribbon in my time
(including 2 cans last night). I have never seen a bottle at a bar let alone a party. They do exist
but they are not common at all -- at least where I have lived and visited.
3. The
description claims you can do this with any object, slip of paper, etc. This was discussed in the
video for a whole 5 seconds. The randomness of the card choice and the misdirection is all within
the Blue Ribbon bottle cap.
4. You will have to rework the trick (patter, presentation,
misdirection etc) if you want to use slips of paper, bottle caps or coins . This means creating a
random card choice you will have to carry many slips of paper, caps or coins with different cards
written on them. It's not organic as the Blue Ribbon bottle and overall not as good.
5.
Bottom line don't let the description fool you. The trick completely revolves around a bottle of
Pabst Blue Ribbon. Anything else is not practical and "too cute" as Jason says a couple of times in
the video.
Guys you are magicians be creative. I don't even like the printed bottle cap approach as it seems too set up. Get a sharpie and a blank bottle cap and make a'prediction' on the spot, this is far more powerful than having a printed cap ahead of time because it's implying that if you did this to someone else the outcome would be the same. This is a great, simple and powerful effect which if done properly will get startling reactions.
