I've been wanting this DVD for the past several years, and I finally got it while it was on sale. I
bought the DVD and also got access to the DVD through MyPenguinMagic. So, I actually watched the
whole thing before I even got the DVD in the mail. I would recommend getting the actual DVD because
it comes with the prediction paper for the Jeopardy trick. If you get the DVD download, you won't
get the paper. Although the paper isn't gimmicked, its nicely made and you won't have to make it
yourself.
Paul is a great performer and teacher. It was a pleasure watching him perform
in a few different settings like, The Magic Castle, in studio and what looked like a cocktail party.
His explanations were also very well done. Although, I would NOT recommend this DVD to a beginner
in magic. Simply because some of the sleights he teaches, he briefly goes over them, probably
assuming you should know them already.
Obviously the best trick and the reason I've always
wanted this DVD was the Jeopardy trick. Very easy to do and its something I will definitely perform
as a closing effect, or if I were to do just one trick, this would be it. Other card tricks which I
really liked were, Here, There, and Chicago Too and Coming Together.
The coin work was
also good although I'm not much of a coin guy. I do want to note that for two of the coin tricks
you need special coin props for them. If you're into coin magic you probably already own them.
Flying Eagles and Above, Beside, Or Below were my favorites. And then he had a nice sponge ball
routine and a great rope routine that combined two classic rope effects.
I give this DVD 5
stars and here are 5 reasons. 1, Watching and learning from a great performer. 2, A great teaching
style that was right to the point, clear and understandable. 3, The Jeopardy routine. 4, Real
world, practical material. And 5, if nothing else, just a great value and variety of material.
Thanks for reading.
