Like most IT effects, this is a pain to get in and out of. Totally impractical for any strolling performances. Furthermore the methodology for certain effects with the gimmick was more complex to memorize than my calculus homework. If you screw up one step in the necessary algorithm of pantomiming hand motions to set up the effect, you're basically done.
