This was my first Penguin Live lecture, and it was well worth the price. The lecture was advertised
as a two hour event, but Ammar ended up providing almost FOUR hours of instruction and discussion.
The effects he teaches are awesome in their simplicity: make a silk visibly pass through a
solid object, tear a spectators SIGNED card right in front of them and then restore it whole, pass
three coins through a sheer silk before the eyes and in the hands of the audience, and much more.
Ammar isn't just a great magician, he is a superb teacher as well. In addition to the
mechanics for each trick, he explains why the tricks work the way they do and how to control
spectators in certain tricky situations.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because
Ammar talks about his typical lecture package at the end (gimicks, notes, and such), but Penguin
does not carry this. I think Penguin should try to arrange with lecturers to carry their lecture
packages as well.
Great teacher. Great magic.
