I have been practicing with this product and find it fun to do.
However, I only gave it 3 stars
because of the DVD, the instructions were a little fuzzy. This was due to the DVD not reviewed by Mr
Harlan's quality control producers. Seemed like the explanation part of the Bonus trick was
incomplete. I contacted penguin and they were nice enough to send me a new one but it was the same.
Mr. Harlan simply ran out of recording time, therefore explanation was incomplete.
I contacted
Mr. Harlan direct (web site). he took awhile to answer but finally did and discovered the error. he
sent me the remaining explanation in narrative by email.
I mean damn. One-Time Charley ease up a bit huh? If you give a three star review for an instructional dvd that may have been cut seconds short on the last effect explained then that’s cool. But to give it the same rating because it’s just not up to your standards is ridiculous. 2 more things: #1. As big of a name as D. H. and how busy he and his freaking schedule is you should realize how lucky you are to get a direct response from him no matter the time frame it took for him to get back to you. #2. The fact he did get back to you in my mind says it’s worth an edit to your original review score of three and giving it that extra 4th star, which is what my opening sentence is referring to. And lastly, #3 depending on the effect, did you think at all that maybe if you’d open a webpage and google/research the effect in its entirety for yourself that you’d be able to figure it out rather than bring along a slew of negativity to few individuals day??? Jeezus man...!
Here's an update for anyone concerned about this: yes, even now the DVD cuts off during the explanation of the bonus trick. It may have been an error in the mastering of the physical disc.
The good news is that when you get this, the online video also appears in your user account. The streaming version DOES have the complete instructions for the cut deeper reading. So anyone getting this product now can simply click the Learn button rather than having to contact Dan (or Jen) to get the rest of the instructions.
@TheRealDefiant1 Calm down. There was nothing wrong with @torgo3k's review. He has every right to be upset when a reputable company is sloppy enough to not notice when the video cuts out in the middle of an explanation.
