You've seen what the effects look like; both are fairly practical and have pretty good angles
(though the appearance might be tough if fully surrounded). The appearing ring is pure sleight of
hand, using an ordinary ring. Mr Long teaches all the moves you'll need and goes through the
routine quite thoroughly. I have seen more in-depth tutorials on the specific sleights, but these
explanations should be plenty for the way the sleights are used here.
The disappearing ring
does use a gimmick - but so long as you can get hold of a cheap ring, it should be easy to make. It
seems to be the easier of the two effects, much less sleight of hand. Mr Long also teaches a
version that doesn't use flash paper, for those situations where fire wouldn't be appropriate.
All in all, it seems well worth the price (especially at cool box price, but even full price
would seem worth it). Recommended.
