I have both aluminium and brass now:

Handling - Aluminium wins (brass is heavier)

Aspect - Brass wins (looks better, sparkle more)

Less maintenance - Brass wins (takes longer to tarnish)

Easier maintenance - Brass wins (I won't even describe, there's just no comparisson)

If you want quality, go for brass. Even the coins I use tarnish MUCH faster in the aluminium box. The maintenance of the brass is optional imho, cuz even "tarnished" the brass still sparkle and looks good (and the "tarnish" serves as natural protection, same principle of iron oxide film in the stainless steel).
