From this lecture I took 4 effects that I will definitely use. Although all the effects were good,
these were my personal favourites.
Ring Slide - Anyone who knows Justin will know his
incredible ring slide. Here is a great utility for invisible thread. A ring moves and subsequently
falls off a pen held by the spectator and everything is left examinable. The choreography on this is
perfect, every move is thought out and slots together like a magical jigsaw. This was probably my
favourite effect of the entire lecture.
Silent thought - After watching this, I thought it
would be a throw away trick. However after Greg put in his two cents on a reveal, the effect was
amazing. Here, a spectator freely chooses a card. Then after putting all the cards except the jokers
in the box and handing it to a spectator, you reveal the name of their chosen card and then show it
in-between the 2 jokers in a magical manor.
Conviction - This effect is both visually and
physically fooling. You tear a corner off a card which is not the spectators, the spectator tears
the last part as it falls into their hand. They are the last person to touch the corner which was in
whole view the entire time. The wrong card is then magically changed into the correct card, but with
a corner of it missing. The spectator turns over the corner that they tore off the wrong card, only
to see it has changed into the corner of their card! AMAZING!
C-drop - The spectators close
their hands, with nothing visible inside them. The corner of their card is then ripped off and
subsequently vanished. When the spectator opens their hands, there it is! The missing corner - just
sitting and staring at them.
All in all, the lecture was worth 10x the price. Justin shared
a lot of good, workable magic and the added company of Greg, adding fresh new ideas made it an
amazing lecture.
Thanks for the incredible material Justin!
