Just to start off, this is not entirely negative. There is some good here but it's marred by a few
things. I'll review each trick individually.
PTC: This one requires kind of a horrid little
gimmick that I can't imagine fooling anyone. Perhaps one could refine it in one's own time but
overall it doesn't really produce the most compelling effect of all time. Apart from anything else
there are much better versions of this trick out there.
Fade: Not bad but not exactly
lasting. The gimmick involved would probably be put to better use in a longer routine.
Edge: Something tells me this one looks a lot more impressive on camera than it would in real
life but I'd be willing to give it a go.
Recover V2: Once again, not bad, but not the
greatest thing to sell as its own entity. If you happen to have a full routine involving match
sticks then this should work though.
Separate: This one I'm a little bit annoyed by. It's
basically just a technique used to prepare for some versions of Paul Curry's "Out of This World"
trick (in fact I'm pretty sure I remember reading it in one of Paul Harris' Art of Astonishment
books for "Galaxy", his version of OOTW). This is most CERTAINLY not something one would want to
sell as its own separate entity. In fact it's barely a trick if I'm honest.
Meltac:
Speaking of Paul Harris, this one's quite similar to one of the tricks in AoA, except this one
doesn't use a full Tic Tac box. This one offers up a pretty cool little visual but it doesn't really
give you much ideas as to how you would get into position without giving yourself away immediately.
That's kind of an overall problem with this which I'll get to later.
Vaj: A nice enough
effect (if extremely angle sensitive) but again; it's not exactly brilliant on it's own, and there's
very little prompting as to how one would get into position that isn't just "Hey, I've got a folded
up note. Oh! It's gone!"
Video: The video itself lacks any kind of presentation. You're
just given a demonstration and then some amateurish visual instructions on how to make the gimmicks
and perform the trick. No extra tips, no presentation ideas, no examples on how to use the tricks or
how to move into them. Nothing, except some very dreary, droning background music. I guess the maker
is assuming that anyone getting this is probably relatively experienced already and would maybe have
their own ideas on how to present and execute these effects but input from the creator is always a
massive plus. But there was none to be had here.
I don't want to discourage the creator.
We've all got to start somewhere. But this wasn't really worth the price it's being sold for. No
presentation and tricks that are more worthy for routines rather than their own separate, lasting
effects.
I thank you.
