I like Paul and have for a long time. His casual, informal presentational style works for me and is
how I like to 'do it'. I have most of his 'stuff' via Penguin. I like that his presentations of
Tarot, Palm Reading and others are reduced to a minimum (for Magicians) so it's like he has
pre-screened these things and saves me a lot of time. Of course he is offering the benefit of his
many years of experience and 'cutting to the chase' for what he is offering. So to me, what we are
paying is pretty reasonable. By the method he suggested, regarding Tarot he said he learned it
several months. I found it much easier than that but his point is 'don't be intimidated by the
deck. I agree. Its no big deal and once you have it, you have it! As he points out, in the lecture
and in his book, the pictures on the cards themselves are 'helps', so use them. If you are new to
Tarot, definitely go with the Ryder-Waite Deck as that is the deck on which the explanations are
based (from almost everybody). Other decks may be more confusing to learn with and less material
available to help. I probably spent 2 hours a day for 3 days and my skills made the deck very
'usable' to me. He also points out, you can work with the 22 cards Major Arcana and hence, start
there. Then, it's even easier. I have yet to use the other cards but I could if I wanted to.
Regarding the lecture itself, I had some 'technical' difficulties that appear to have been 'not' at
my end and so I docked them a star, but maybe the 'blank' is covered in the download. We'll see. If
you have your own systems of card reading and/or are familiar with Foryer or Barnum they work into
this very well. He rather 'down-played' them as he made a point about the 'ease' of his systems but
for a couple extra days of practice with those types of 'Universal Statements' you add hours of
variety to your repertoire. You need to know them 'cold' but again, once you have them, the
applications and opportunities are endless. Thank You Paul! Good stuff!
