There are very few tricks that elicit a kind of giddy, school child like sense of amazement, wonder
and magic. I've shown this effect to numerous people, magicians and lay people alike and the
reactions are unlike almost any other trick I perform. People just don't see it coming and when you
open that door, they just smile, laugh and giggle with a sense of wonder and amazement that
magicians long to create but rarely do.
The toughest part of the trick is drawing the door.
It's not hard really, you just have to draw the lines straight and in the proper place. There are a
two other moves, but they are not at all difficult and with just a bit of practice, you will be
performing this the next day.
Based on the reactions Little Door gets, it gets my highest
recommendation and is the best trick I have purchased in years. It's just that good!
There isn't really any slight of hand as such. The "handling" is very straightforward and involves natural actions but you'll obviously have to practise this to perform it smoothly. As mentioned, the most difficult part of the routine is drawing the door accurately which takes a little practise. This is all covered in the instructional DVD.
It's difficult for me to put a number on it as far as difficulty goes as I've been performing this for many years. Perhaps someone who has purchased this recently could comment?
Hi, I came up with the effect about 8 years ago but I'm only just releasing it to the market now. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best wishes,
Roddy McGhie
Can it be done with the wrapper on(cellophane)?
It isn't set up to be done with the cellophane on the card box.
In re: level of difficulty...
How hard is it to draw a box? A '1'...'2' maybe.
The handling is easy, and most importantly, the technique is very natural.
You'll love this.
could you please tell me how many approximate performances you could see the gimmick lasting .... Thanks
Hey Marty!...How's everything?...Yeah, I thought that you'd be reviewing this one soon...looks great!! Pretty hefty price for a "one trick pony" but the effect is really cool!...I can sure think of some nice applications for this. I got "Flux" a while back and have really enjoyed it..plays great!....I'll have to get this early next month, hopefully!...take care my friend and thanks, as always, for the info....Namaste

Now that was NOT my fault. I guess as soon as the "Add Comment" lights up, it's good, doesn't have to be clicked. ????

Hey Don,
You bet my friend. I've seen lots of tricks...most very good. Some others, not so much.
Candidly, I 'love' this trick. It plays HUGE with any audience. The handling is easy to learn and very natural...You're gonna love it too.
Hell, I even wrote a review for this and you know what I think about reviews ;-)
As of 5/27, it hasn't posted, but it's in the cue.
On a different subject, I was reviewing a different post from over a month ago and you mentioned that you wanted me to contact you. Sound familiar?
I don't remember the specific trick, but what was curious to me is that I've never had contact info for you...other than coincidental posts here.
So, I'll be happy to follow up with you...just tell me how.
Is there an 'avenue' that I'm unaware of?
Let me know!
And, dammit, quit hitting the 'Add Comment' button more than once ;-)
Oh, Don, to add to this "one trick pony", I've combined this with Panic so that I could use the deck for an additional 'pony'. I have other ideas to get more usage out of this single deck, but still batting them around.
Until next time...
Magic Yoda,
Hi.
The "Panic" you referred to in your May 27th 2016post
regarding Roddy McGhie's "Little Door" -I'm assuming you mean Aaron Fischer's "Panic"
(only because I don't see any other trick by that name listed at Penguinmagic.)
BTW, since "Little Door" also appears to have piqued my interest, but I usually stay away from 'one trick ponies' in favor of effects that an also "flow" into another trick, (i.e, routine whenever possible), if it's indeed Aaron Fischer's "Panic" - do YOU perform "Panic" first or second?
Many Thanks!
Jonathan
